The New Home Theatre in Chicago offered this text only Movie Calendar in April, 1937. Featured movie for the month would be Banjo on my Knee. Nationwide, Americans were still struggling with the effects of the Great Depression; Ernest Hemingway was covering the Spanish Civil War in Spain; and Pablo Picasso was completing his great masterpiece Guernica in Paris. The Hindenburg airship would crash and burn on May 6 of that year, and aviator Amelia Earhardt would disappear on her historic transatlantic flight July 2.
